Made in about 1900 in St-Petresburg in Russia.
Bronze, casting, patinated. Height 30 cm. Price - 369000 Russian roubles.

Данная скульптура атрибутируется как работа известного русского скульптора Евгения Ивановича Напса. Модель "Сокольничего", созданная в первой половине 1870х годов под впечатлением аналогичной скульптуры Е.А.Лансере, стала одним из самых удачных и известных произведений скульптора - в ней ярко раскрылся его талант анималиста и мастера реалистического направления, тщательно и подробно воспроизводящего исторические детали одежды и конской упряжи. Сюжет этой динамичной конной композиции навеян романом А.К.Толстого "Князь Серебряный", действие в котором происходит во времена Иоанна Грозного.
Как характерный образец подписной русской камерной скульптуры композиция "Царский сокольничий" имеет художественную и коллекционную ценность.
