Origin of Name
"Dong-hu (East Lake) Fang-ying Tai (falconry platform)" is located on the Southwest corner of Dong-hu. According to the legend, Tang Dynasty poet; Li, Bai, pay homage to his old house on Bei-Hai (North Sea, shore) in 760, Li Bai used to fly goshawks on this dirt platform and thus the dirt platform gradually be called "Fang-ying Tai".
Li, Bai (701 – 762), also known as Li Bo, was a Chinese poet acclaimed from his own day to the present as a genius and a romantic figure who took traditional poetic forms to new heights. He and his friend Du Fu (712–770) were the two most prominent figures in the flourishing of Chinese poetry in the Tang Dynasty that is often called the "Golden Age of China".
